Japan is planning a slight increase in defense spending, with plans to buy more long-range patrol aircraft, cargo jets and helicopter carriers as well as V-22 Ospreys and F-35 stealth fighters. Russian combat planes frequently stage incursions near Hokkaido and the disputed Kuril Islands, and also commonly fly around the Japanese mainland. Chinese incursions have been focused on the East China Sea, near the disputed Senkaku islands, which China claims as the Diaoyu Islands. The past year has seen flights by Chinese military planes over Japanese airspace and into the western Pacific. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. SOUTH CHINA SEAA U.S. Navy warship sailed through the South China Sea this week, prompting yet another angry response from China, which claims almost the entire region as its own. According to a report compiled for the U.S. Congress, China has undertaken large-scale land reclamation in the area since 2013, creating seven artificial islands in two years. The Wall Street Journal reports that on Tuesday, missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence traveled within 12 nautical miles of Chinese-occupied Fiery Cross Reef. Fiery Cross is a 700-acre man-made island with a 10,000-foot military runway, deepwater port, and other military facilities. Given its extensive infrastructure, it is presumed to be the future hub of Chinese military operations in the South China Sea. The U.S. has said the operation was conducted to exercise freedom of navigation rights in the area, which are reportedly being restricted by excessive claims in the region. Fiery Cross Reef is claimed by China, Taiwan, Vietnam and the Philippines. Except for the Philippines, the rest of the claimants all require prior notice for transit rights within the 12-mile zone, according to the New York Times. China responded to the U.S. destroyer’s passage by mobilizing two fighter jets and three warships to shadow the vessel, reports Reuters. The demonstration comes ahead of a United Nations ruling on whether Beijing has maritime rights around reefs and atolls in the South China Sea. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. 중국 남중국해 인공섬 첫 비행 성공 The Philippines has rejected China′s test flights to one of its man-made islands in the South China Sea. Bruce Harrison joins me now in the studio. Bruce, despite widespread concern and criticism in the region, China continues to fortify its presence in the contested waters. Hello Daniel. China doesn′t really seem to be concerned about other countries territorial claims in the South China Sea. Beijing is claiming a massive swath of territory that contains major shipping lanes... and reinforcing its presence by building islands... it claims are largely for civilian use. Just yesterday, China landed two commercial jets on Fiery Cross Reef... to see if the runway on the reclaimed island is up to standard. The reef is in territory claimed by the PhilippinesTaiwan and Vietnam. Philppine Foreign Secretary Alberto del Rosario said if China′s expansion is not challenged... it could impose an air defense identifcation zone in the territory. British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond visited the Philppines this week and said all parties should respect international law. ″Freedom of navigation and overflight are non-negotiable. They are red lines for us, we will maintain the position that we as an international maritime and trading nation enjoy freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea.″ Hammond also said Britain doesn′t take sides in the disuptes... and urged countries in the region to exercise restraint. Analysts say the runways would be long enough to handle long-range bombers and transport aircraft as well as Chinese fighter jets. The development would give China deep presense in the maritime heart of Southeast Asia for the first time. This video shows you that India Builds 'China Wall' With Tanks In Ladakh, Jets In NorthEast. India is slowly cranking up its conventional military deterrence against China along the land border as well as the strategically located Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with the deployment of additional Sukhoi-30MKI fighters, spy drones and mi$$iles in the northeast as well as tank regiments and troops in eastern Ladakh. Under the overall plan to progressively boost both military force-levels and infrastructure to address the stark military asymmetry with the People's Liberation Army, the IAF will activate its Pasighat advanced landing ground (ALG) in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday. Described as "a strategic asset" capable of operating aircraft and helicopters, the ALG will be inaugurated by junior home minister Kiren Rijiju and Eastern Air Command chief Air Marshal C Hari Kumar. "The ALG will not only improve our response time to different operational contingencies, but also the efficacy of the overall air operations on the eastern front," said an officer. While ALGs have also been activated in Daulat Beg Oldi and Nyoma in Ladakh, Pasighat is the fifth ALG to become operational in Arunachal. "While Ziro, Along, Mechuka and Walong ALGs are now operational, Tuting should be ready by December 31 and Tawang by April 30 next year," said the officer. Similarly, the government has now approved several infrastructure development projects in the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), which has suffered from politico-bureaucratic apathy and military turf w@rs since it was established in 2001 as the country's first theatre command, say defence ministry sources. India has also begun to regularly deploy its Sukhoi-30MKI fighters and C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, as well as the long-range patrol and anti-submarine w@rfare Poseidon-8I aircraft, at the ANC, which can act as a pivot to counter China's strategic moves in the Indian Ocean Region. But road and rail connectivity remain a major problem along the unresolved 4,057km Line of Actual Control (LAC), which witnesses almost daily "transgressions" by Chinese troops. Only 23 of the 73 "strategic roads" identified for construction along the LAC have been completed till now, when all the 73 were to be finished by 2012. Similarly, 14 strategic railway lines remain a mere pipedream, with the government according "in principle" approval for the construction, and undertaking a "final location survey" of four lines so far. lac, arunachal pradesh, india china border, indian vs china, china vs india, china india border, china border, china vs india economy, india china border dispute, india border, india china news, border disputes, indo china border, india and china, china border countries, arunachal pradesh china, china to india Channel Link: youtube.com/c/GlobalConflict7 Long Time Coming by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100173 Artist: http://incompetech.com/

Except for the Philippines, the rest of the claimants all require prior notice for transit rights within the 12-mile zone, according to the New York Times.China responded to the U.S. destroyer’s passage by mobilizing two fighter jets and three warships to shadow the vessel, reports Reuters. The demonstration comes ahead of a United Nations ruling on whether Beijing has maritime rights around reefs and atolls in the South China Sea. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Animation Studio’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D news animations that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. Originally published on October 28, 2013 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Four Chinese military aircraft have flown over Japan's Okinawa Islands and Miyako Island for the past three days in a row. In response, Japan also scrambled fighter jets on Sunday (October 27) for a third consecutive day. It was reported that two Chinese early warning planes and two bombers were spotted over the area between Okinawa's mainland and Miyako Island on Sunday. The aircraft flew over the Pacific Ocean several hundred kilometres south of Okinawa before returning to the East China Sea. Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had reportedly approved the use of air force planes to shoot down unmanned Chinese aircraft in Japanese airspace. According to Reuters, "Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also told his troops on Sunday that Japan would not tolerate the use of force to change the region's status quo, an expression used by Japanese politicians and security experts to refer to what they see as China's aggressive maritime expansion. "Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying, asked about Abe's comments, said Japanese leaders had been repeatedly making "provocative" remarks. "This once again shows that Japanese politicians are deceiving themselves with their arrogance and guilty conscience," she told a daily news briefing. "Ties between Asia's two largest economies deteriorated sharply after Japan bought three of the disputed East China Sea islets from a private owner in September 2012, sparking protests and boycotts of Japanese goods across China." -------------------------------------------------------- TomoNews is your daily source for top animated news. The series of man-made islands and the massive Chinese military build-up on them have alarmed the Pentagon, which is carrying out the surveillance flights in order to make clear the U.S. does not recognize China's territorial claims. The militarized islands have also alarmed America's regional allies.
